On Thursday, 2/18, the Boy Scout troops in Phoenixville received an urgent request from the Phoenixville Area Community Service (PACS) for food donations. We are asking that each parishioner or family bring 10 food/non-food items from the list below to the Cultural Center by Saturday, March 6th at 9am. If the Cultural Center is locked, donations may be placed in or next to the blue bin that is in the alcove outside of the Office Entrance. All our donations will be taken to PACS on Saturday, March 6th at 9:30am by the Cox boys (and mom). Now more than ever, our help is needed. PACS serves thousands of people in our area. Sadly, many of them are Veterans.
Food items needed: Peanut Butter, Canned Pasta, Mac & Cheese, Jelly/Jam, Cooking Oil, Canned Meat, Pasta Sauce, Juice & Juice Mixes, Condiments, Syrup, Butter/Margarine, Pancake Mix, Snack foods, Baking Mixes (w/ icing), Rice, Spices/Seasonings
No glass or expired items please. THANK YOU, St. Sophia Families!!
Registering to Attend Church Services: For the time being, registration is still required to attend Divine Liturgy on Sundays. However, you DO NOT need to register to attend Saturday, weekday or weeknight Lenten services as attendance is generally pretty light.
When you arrive, hand sanitizer and masks will be available for your convenience. Masks are required by all worshippers over the age of 2, and we will continue the practice of physical distancing families throughout the church. Chanters are not required to wear masks during the service but they will continue to social distance at the chanter’s stand.
Please remember that masks must be worn OVER the nose as well as the mouth at all times when indoors and in a group setting as per the CDC guidelines for this pandemic. We want to ensure that all our parishioners remain safe and healthy!
